2016 YGL-LA Student Ambassadors
YGL-LA is excited to support the Greater Los Angeles Federal Executive Board (FEB) with a Student Ambassadors Program, bringing the face of young Feds to colleges, universities, and community groups. The YGL-LA Student Ambassadors Program will facilitate the recruitment of young public servants and provide information on pathways to Federal government careers. If you are interested in having OPM trained YGL-LA Board Members or Student Ambassadors present on USAJobs: Pathways Programs for Students and Recent Graduates, share their public service experience and offer advice to aspiring future leaders, please contact us at LA@younggov.org.
Jon managed the Student Ambassadors from 2012 to 2013. He was grandfathered into the pathways program January 2012, he was hired under the SCEP (Student Career Employment Program) in 2010 while completing undergrad. He is now on the job as a Young Fed. He said what he’s learned is: “It’s all about networking and putting yourself out there.”
