Mentoring

The YGL-SEA Mentorship program enjoyed popularity with YGL members and successful engagement between mentors and protégés. Historically we have successfully paired more than 50 seasoned government leaders with eager YGL’ers!

Senior Executive Association

The Senior Executives Association is a nonprofit professional association that promotes ethical and dynamic public service by fostering an outstanding career executive corps, advocates the interests of career federal executives (both active and retired), and provides information and services to SEA members.

Requirements

The requirements are simple! Acceptance into the program entails the following:
  • Commit to a 6-month mentoring relationship; 6-months can be a long time! It’s actually half of the year, so take a look at your calendar and ensure that you have the time to commit! Although voluntary in nature the time commitment for each mentor usually consists of meeting once or twice a month for coffee, a meal, etc.
  • Maintain active communication; We don’t have guidelines on how to communicate, and we understand life happens! However, we want to ensure that mentors and protégé’s connect at least once each month. You can connect via: phone, email, in-person, or virtually.
  • Attend our cohort-focused events; We have some pretty phenomenal events lined up this year! We just require that you attend 2 out of the 3 events we will host!

Open to all YGL members who would like to be protégés!
All potential mentors must be affiliated with SEA
